Ex-govt staff charged over Vic IBAC probe

IBAC has charged four people over construction funding for state schools (AAP)

A former Victorian education department staffer is among four people charged with corruption, allegedly involving construction funding for state schools.

The former department staffer, an ex-Victorian School Building Authority employee and two other people are charged with offences including misconduct in public office, and conspiracy to cheat and defraud.

It follows an investigation by the state's Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission.

It allegedly found serious corruption involving a survey provider, and contracts issued by the department and its school building authority subsidiary.

Two of the accused are linked to the survey provider.

All four are due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 16.
