Ex-Gogglebox star admits she's thinking of 'giving up' on Line of Duty

Ex-Gogglebox star Rev Kate Bottley has admitted she is ready to give up on Line of Duty after struggling to keep up with the latest series.

Writing on Twitter, the Reverend said: "Look, I don't want you to think anymore badly of me than you already do, but I’m thinking about giving up on Line of Duty; I thought you should know.

"I’ve loved it but I’m not clever enough to keep up."

The BBC police drama recently returned for its sixth series, and fans have been confused by a winding plot and a long list of buzzwords and acronyms to remember - despite near-universal acclaim for its previous series.

Series six has four more episodes to go before its conclusion. It's not clear if the BBC will commission a seventh season.

Bottley, meanwhile, appeared on Gogglebox with her husband, Graham, from 2014. She no longer appears on the Channel 4 programme, though she does pop up elsewhere across TV - she was recently on Would I Lie to You? and Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, and she regularly presents on BBC Radio 2 and Songs of Praise.

Gogglebox airs each Friday night at 9pm on Channel 4. Line of Duty is shown every Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
