Ex-Giants WR Hakeem Nicks will try out for XFL

The XFL will continue its Summer Showcase on Friday in New York as the league looks to populate itself with top-end talent ahead of its 2020 relaunch, and you can add another former member of the New York Giants to their long list of tryouts.

Only days removed from several other former Giants giving it a go, wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will step up as he continues to work his way back into professional football.

Nick last appeared in the NFL in 2015 as a member of the Giants — his second stint with the team — but at that point he was a shell of his former self, recording just seven receptions for 54 yards over a six-game span.

Since that time, Nicks has focused on getting healthy and was recently spotted in New Jersey running routes for Eli Manning. The 31-year-old is attempting an NFL comeback, but that may go through the XFL.

In 92 career games, which included a brief stop with the Indianapolis Colts, Nicks hauled in 356 receptions for 5,081 yards and 31 touchdowns.
