Ex-Giants Will Hill, Kristjan Sokoli to take part in XFL Summer Showcase

The XFL will enter Day 2 of its Summer Showcase on Saturday afternoon as they continue their search for quality football players to populate their resurrected league, which will officially kickoff in 2020.

The Summer Showcase, which is similar to the NFL Combine, got underway on Friday at Maverick Stadium in Dallas, Texas and will move to TDECU Stadium in Houston on Saturday before jetting off to other destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Tampa Bay through July 13.

Although a complete list of attendees for each location are not currently available, some of the upcoming participants have been announced.

Two of those looking to open eyes are former New York Giants safety Will Hill, who recently appeared in the now defunct AAF, and former defensive lineman Kristjan Sokoli, who posted a video of his pre-Showcase workout on Twitter.

The XFL already has a very distinct Giants feel as former offensive coordinator, Kevin Gilbride, will head the New York franchise as both general manager and head coach. Former running backs coach Jerald Ingram will also be a part of his staff.

Additionally, retired Giants linebacker and Super Bowl champion, Pepper Johnson, has been hired as defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles franchise.

It remains to be see what other, if any, former Giants players and coaches also find a new home in the league.
