It was no easy route to the NFL for Victor Cruz. He went undrafted out of the University of Massachusetts in 2010, then had to earn a spot on the New York Giants roster. He would eventually break out with them a year later — the season they went on to win Super Bowl XLVI.
Before his NFL days, Cruz was a local star who played at Paterson Catholic in Paterson, New Jersey. He has always been proud of his Paterson roots.
With the country in a state of uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic, Cruz has found a way to give back to his old stomping grounds. The retired wideout teamed up with Altice, a cable TV company, to donate 100 Chromebooks to the public school district in Paterson.
Since Cruz’s playing days with Big Blue ended in 2016, he has stayed busy both professionally and in the community.
Cruz has been an analyst on ESPN and is a co-host of “Pop of the Morning” on E! News. Cruz is now also appearing on “The Titan Games,” hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Cruz’s community service is nothing new as he continues to give back to the community. In recent years, Cruz donated football equipment to New Jersey schools and gave back to the Boys and Girls Club of America among other charity work.
