Ex-Giant Michael Strahan will host 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards

Retired New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan will host the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, his second time emceeing the event.

Strahan, who also appears on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” “The $100,000 Pyramid” and “Fox NFL Sunday,” hosted the inaugural Kids’ Choice Sports Awards in 2014.

“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports is a one-of-a-kind awards show that brings all-star athletes, kids and of course, slime together,” Strahan said Thursday in a statement. “When I hosted the first year of the show, I loved it — the energy, stunts, kids, crowd and slime … a lot of slime! Hosting this show has been one of my favorite things I’ve done, and this year is going to be the biggest, the baddest and the slimiest.”

The awards ceremony will be taped on July 11 and will air on Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon.

Giants running back Saquon Barkley is a first-time nominee in three categories, including “Favorite Football Player,” “Sickest Moves” and “Favorite Breakout Player.”

Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was nominated in the “King of Swag” category.
