Ex-gangster Ian “Blink” MacDonald was yesterday cleared of assaulting his partner.
MacDonald, 61, was accused of attacking Ashley Lurinsky, 36, at her home in Dalmarnock, Glasgow.
Court papers claimed MacDonald seized her by the hair and pulled it before striking her head with a mirror.
He was also accused of placing his hands around her neck and compressed it to her injury.
But prosecutor Sean Docherty dropped the charge mid-trial after Miss Lurinsky gave her evidence.
Sheriff Sean Lynch acquitted MacDonald who had pled guilty to breaching a bail condition not to approach Miss Lurinsky.
MacDonald was jailed for 16 years over his role in an attempted £6million bank robbery in 1991. He was part of a six-man gang that targeted a NatWest branch in Torquay.
A female worker survived being shot in the head during the raid. He served 10 years before being released in 2002.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard from Miss Lurinsky who said she could not recall what either of them were doing on the day of the alleged assault.
The hearing was told the pair attended The Sir John Moore pub in the city centre together with their three-year-old daughter on May 30, 2022 – breaching MacDonald’s bail terms.
MacDonald was admonished of the breach of bail charge.
He told last month how his life fell apart because of addiction and he has been attending Cocaine Anonymous meetings.
