Former Falcons safety Jaylinn Hawkins is signing with the New England Patriots, Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reported on Thursday afternoon. Atlanta selected Hawkins in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft out of California.
The 26-year-old spent three and a half seasons with the Falcons before getting released six games into the 2023 season. Hawkins racked up four interceptions over 48 games in Atlanta.

Hawkins started 22 total games, including 16 starts in 2022, but he lost his spot in the starting lineup to Jessie Bates in 2023. The veteran then safety signed with the Los Angeles Chargers for the final 10 games of the 2023 season.
Now, Hawkins is headed to the new-look New England Patriots to play for head coach Jerod Mayo.
