Wolves in talks to sign striker Everton wanted nearly three years ago

Wolves are in talks to sign a striker that Everton targeted nearly three years ago.

The Molineux club are hoping to secure Brazilian forward Willian Jose on loan from Real Sociedad.

Jose was being lined up by former director of football Steve Walsh for the 2018 summer transfer window.

And the Blues were told they must pay £30m for his services.

But Walsh would lose his job before the transfer window opened and Everton moved onto different targets.

Jose would sign a new contract with the Spanish club in the October of that year.

Widespread reports last night revealed that Wolves are closing in on the targetman with a loan deal, including the option to buy, being discussed.

The striker has scored 60 times in 169 games for Sociedad.

And he would come to Wolves to help fill the void left by the injured Raul Jimenez.
