Ex-England striker has his say on the Helder Costa dynamic at Leeds United

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Darren Bent says winger Helder Costa can play a key role in Leeds United's push for promotion.

The on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers ace has become a regular in Marcelo Bielsa's starting XI after having to make do with a number of appearances from the bench when he first arrived.

The 26-year-old, who was an important part of Wolves' rise to the Premier League, has featured in every game this season and found the net on four occasions.

And Bent says Leeds fans will see the best of Costa in the remaining 13 Championship games.

"He can still help fire Leeds to promotion," Bent told Football Insider. "There's 13 games left and he can be an important player for them. The Leeds fans will remember that, if he's played a key part in them getting promoted, Leeds fans will never forget that.

"I don’t think he was given the correct opportunities when he first came in, he spent a lot of time on the bench. He didn’t really get the opportunity to showcase what he is about, but this is the time now. He could still turn out to be a hero.”
