Former England batsman and Sky Sports pundit Rob Key is recovering after suffering a 'mini stroke', he has revealed.
The 41-year-old took to his Instagram page to post a picture of himself in hospital, and thanking medics for the care he has received.
He posted: "Long weekend. Turns out I’ve had a mini stroke. Thanks to everyone at the Kent and Canterbury hospital especially Charlie and Dr Baht. Now got to eat food with no flavour and take pills."
Key has been fronting a number of vodcasts with various cricket personalities for Sky since the country was placed into lockdown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He has also hosted 'watchalongs' alongside stars of the past and present for repeats of famous days of English cricket including last year's World Cup final, Ben Stokes' Headingley heroics and the 2005 Ashes series.
As a player, Key enjoyed a stellar county career with Kent, playing for the Canterbury-based side for 18 years.
He played 15 Tests for England between 2002 and 2005, scoring 221 against the West Indies at Lord's in 2004.
Key also played five one-day internationals for England.
His county Kent, who he skippered for a large portion of his domestic career, passed on their best wishes on Twitter.
In all, Key amassed just short of 20,000 first-class runs in 299 matches at an average of over 40 and with 54 hundreds.
