Ex-EastEnders' actor John Partridge is unrecognisable as he sports moustache and glasses

John Partridge looked a far cry from his usual clean-shaven look during an appearance on Loose Women.

The former EastEnders ' actor surprised viewers when he debuted a moustache, a new shaggy hair do and donned a pair of vintage style spectacles.

John, 48, was on the ITV panel show to chat about his new touring stage show Cabaret, but fans couldn't ignore just how unrecognisable the Celebrity Big Brother star was.

The new look was a shock for some including panellist Andrea McLean who said: "He's a world away from EastEnders, you can tell that just by looking at him.

"He looks so different!"

John, who starred as Christian Clarke on the BBC soap from 2008 to 2012, also teased a return as his lovable character.

Asked by the Loose Women if he'd say yes to going back to Walford he said: "Listen I'm a jobbing actor, I say yes an awful lot.

"I never say never to anything. I'm happy where I am right now but who knows. Christian might get sick of Birmingham and he might come back, you never know."

Since leaving the soap John turned to theatre and has enjoyed stints on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity MasterChef.

He said of his time on EastEnders: "People always say, 'Do you get fed up with people talking to you about Christian,' but I'm so proud of Christian.

"I'm so proud of that storyline because it just became about two people in love in impossible circumstances, and I think everybody can relate to that."

He added: "No matter what? sexuality, or race, or religion, that's what it became about."
