Ex-Clydesdale Bank COO joins board of Together Personal Finance

Former Clydesdale Bank chief operating officer John Hooper has been appointed as a non-executive director of Together Personal Finance, part of London-listed Together Financial Services .

Hooper, who is already chair of The Cumberland Building Society and a non-executive director of Russian investment bank VTB Capital, has been chosen to chair Together Personal Finance’s risk committee, subject to regulatory approval. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of York.

During his time with Clydesdale, Hooper served on the bank’s board and on the board of then-parent company National Australia Group Europe. He also held several senior roles at National Australia Bank (NAB), including chief executive of nabCapital, NAB’s global wholesale banking arm, and a member of the bank’s group executive committee.

Richard Gregory, chairman of Together Personal Finance, said: “We are delighted to welcome John to the Board of our Personal Finance business. He brings extensive banking, finance and risk experience, gained in both an executive and non-executive capacity, and will be a valuable addition to our board.”

Cheshire-based Together was founded in 1974 and now has more than 700 staff and a loan book topping £3 billion. It offers residential and commercial mortgages, along with bridging and auction loans.
