Ex-Chick-fil-A employee charged with stealing over $80,000 by refunding hundreds of mac and cheeses to his own cards

Former Texas Chick-fil-A employee Keyshun Jones faces felony charges, including theft, money laundering, and evading arrest, after allegedly stealing over $80,000 by issuing hundreds of fraudulent mac and cheese refunds to his personal credit cards - (Grapevine Police Department)

A former Texas Chick-fil-A employee is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly issued more than $80,000 in fake mac and cheese tray refunds to his personal credit cards after being fired.

Keyshun Jones allegedly started the scheme at a Grapevine location in November 2025 when the restaurant’s owner reported a theft to police, Fox 4 reports. Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed Jones, who had been fired about a month earlier, standing unattended behind the counter.

At the register, Jones allegedly created about 800 fake orders for macaroni and cheese trays and then immediately issued refunds for those transactions to his own credit cards. Investigators estimate the total loss exceeded $80,000, according to the outlet.

Following a five-month investigation, officers attempted to locate Jones multiple times, but he allegedly evaded arrest. He was ultimately taken into custody on April 17, 2026, with assistance from the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department.

Jones now faces several felony charges, including property theft, money laundering and evading arrest.

Police have not released further details on how Jones accessed the register after his termination.

The Independent has contacted the Grapevine Police Department and Chick-fil-A for comment.
