May 10--Former Chicago meteorologist Ginger Zee followed her impressive perfect score last week on "Dancing with the Stars" with another set of perfect 10s in the first round of competition Monday.
Zee, who worked for WMAQ-Ch. 5 from 2006-11, danced the Argentine tango with professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
"That was mind-blowing," judge Carrie Ann Inaba said.
Said judge Len Goodman: "I'm telling you, that was one hell of a dance."
The judges praised Zee's ability to embrace her sensuous character and connect with Chmerkovskiy so they appeared to dance as one.
In the second round of competition Monday, the six couples were divided into three teams of four. Each of the three judges choreographed a dance.
Zee and Chmerkovskiy were paired with Boyz II Men singer Wanya Morris and professional partner Lindsay Arnold on Goodman's team. They danced a Caribbean-inspired samba and earned 29 out of 30 points. Zee and Chmerkovskiy top the leaderboard with 59 points.
At the end of the show, "Fuller House" star Jodie Sweetin and professional partner Keo Motsepe were eliminated, based on judges scores and viewer votes.
Five couples remain on Season 22 of "Dancing with the Stars," which airs 7 p.m. Mondays on ABC.
