Ex-Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo hails Carlo Ancelotti and explains why he's an Everton 'fan'

Former striker Hernan Crespo has revealed he likes to keep an eye out for Everton results, following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian replaced Marco Silva as manager of the Blues in December, and has since began his rebuild at Goodison Park.

Ancelotti managed Crespo during their time at AC Milan, where he had a loan stint in 2004-05 from Chelsea, a club both have had respective spells at in their career.

Now Crespo has explained how the Everton boss is a father figure to him, and why he wants the Blues to win every time he watches them.

“Carlo is like a father to me," Crespo told the Daily Mail.

“Carlo is a passionate person; he is one of the coaches that helped to introduce me into Europe and helped me to establish myself.

“In Italy, he explained to me the way you must behave as a professional – on and off the pitch.”

“This was a very important part of my career.

“When I watch his matches for Everton, I want him to win because he's a great person and a great manager.”
