Ex-Chelsea and Tottenham stars named in Best World XI alongside Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe

The Men's World XI of 2019 has been announced.

And there's two Premier League representatives in Liverpool pair Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.

They are joined in defence by Real Madrid and Spain captain Sergio Ramos, Dutch wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt and attack-minded left-back Marcelo.

In midfield there is a name that will delight Tottenham Hotspur supporters.

Luka Modric - the 2018 Ballon d'or winner - is recognised for his good year despite a difficult season for Los Blancos as he lines up in the engine room alongside new Barcelona starlet Frenkie de Jong.

The attack would strike fear into any team as it includes two of the best players of all time; Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

They are joined by Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Kylian Mbappe who has enjoyed a meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene as a Monaco player a couple of seasons ago.

Last but not least is a name very familiar to Chelsea supporters.

Having helped the Blues seal a top three place in the Premier League as well as starring in the Europa League final over Arsenal, Eden Hazard is rewarded with a place in this all-star lineup.
