Fresh off of news that former Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas is not in fact heading to play overseason in a Russian basketball league comes word that the one-time King in the Fourth will be working out with the Golden State Warriors according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto and Jorge Sierra.
After personally shooting down rumors he might be headed to play for CSKA Moscow on Wednesday via his Twitter account, Thomas now looks to play his way into a deal with the West Coast franchise as the Dubs seek to shore up their backcourt depth for the 2021-22 NBA season on a budget.
With a little luck, things will break IT’s way for a change, given the Celtics fan favorite has been working as hard as anyone to get one more shot at the league he loves so much to compete in.
Free agent guard Isaiah Thomas will be working out with the Warriors next week, sources tell me and @MikeAScotto.
