Ex Celtic WAG Lisa Hague floored by grief for stillborn Lola during lockdown

Former Celtic WAG Lisa Hague says she has been floored for a week during the 13th anniversary of the death of her stillborn Lola this month.

And Lisa believes the bereavement has hit her extra hard because of Covid - and the lack of flowers and cards and contact with people she'd normally receive.

Lisa who is engaged to retired footballer Kris Commons wrote an emotional post on social media today saying: "Lola’s anniversary was last Monday and I’m normally on it with sharing my feelings and writing an acknowledgment to her.

"This year absolutely floored me, she would have been thirteen and I can only put it down to that, the grieving really hit me hard."

Lisa who is also mum to April, 10, William, eight and six-year-old Jax, said she wasn't looking for sympathy as she explained she felt that people didn't celebrate Lola's life in the same way this year.

She said: "I also felt that maybe people forgot her this year, which isn’t true it’s just hard because of C19. I’m sharing this not for sympathy but for you to know that the current situation will have effected a lot of people grieving. "

She added: "Normally I’d be inundated with flowers and cards for Lola. This year I didn’t. I cried, like I’ve never cried before, the type of crying where you lose your breath. I felt like it took me a week to pick myself up."

"I just got floored and felt this year maybe she had been forgotten a little. Kris said to me it’s no-ones job other than ours to keep Lola’s memory alive and it’s true."

Now feeling better, she thanked followers who comforted her on Instagram and said: 'Anyway, I feel different now, I’ve cried my tears by the bucket load and I’m back on my feet.
