Ex-Celtic star Paul Hartley 'in the frame' for Kilmarnock top job

Cove Rangers Paul Hartley is believed to be in the frame for the vacant Kilmlarnock manager's job, following Tommy Wright's sacking 10 days ago.

Former Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen star Hartley, who started his career at Hamilton Accies, has managed a number of clubs, including Alloa, Dundee and Falkirk, and is seen as an experienced campaigner.

Hamilton man Hartley, 45, has Cove five points clear at the top of the League One table as the club chase promotion to the Championship.

According to the Scottish Sun, Hartley is in the frame for the post and has impressed head of football operations James Fowler, who is current caretaker boss, and steered them to a 3-2 win at Hamilton Accies on Boxing Day.

Former Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell, ex-Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes and pundit Neil McCann are amongst the other stars who have been linked to the job.
