Ex-Celtic star is "exciting prospect" as she makes permanent Well move

Motherwell Women boss Paul Brownlie says it's an exciting prospect for the team after defender Paige McAllister made a loan move from Celtic permanent.

The 18-year-old joined on loan in the summer, and that deal became permanent when her contract expired at Celtic at the turn of the year.

Centre-back McAllister brings a wealth of experience, having been at Celtic for five years, but also spending time out on loan at Hearts last season.

She has also represented Scotland from under-15s to under-17s.

Brownlie is delighted to have signed McAllister, who has made six appearances in claret and amber, and who wears the number 66 shirt.

He told the club's website: "We were really excited to get Paige in the door.

"She is an exciting prospect who has looked assured and strong when she has played this season for us.

"The loan period has allowed her to get settled, and now she can kick on from here."

Paige said: "I believe this is the best place for my long-term development.

"It's a great project here and we want to play football the right way.

"We are a really ambitious group on and off the pitch. It's an exciting time to be at Motherwell.

"If we keep building, improving and working hard I think we can take this club on a special journey."
