Ex-Celtic boss Postecoglou suffers nightmare start as Al-Nassr lose to reserve side

Ange Postecoglou got off to a nightmare start as Al-Nassr manager after his side lost to Benfica reserves in his first game.

The ex-Celtic boss is in Portugal with his new club and took his new charges to the scene of his former club's greatest ever triumph at the Estadio Nacional, where the Lisbon Lions became the first British side to win the European Cup in 1967.

But on the pitch, the Australian boss suffered a disappointing start as manager of the megabucks Saudi Arabian club.

Despite Al-Nassr taking the lead after just four minutes, they allowed a youthful Benfica B team to win 2-1 in his first game at his new club.

The Saudi league season starts on August 13 and the ex-Spurs and Nottingham Forest manager will have three more games at their Portuguese base to prepare for his first campaign there.

They will play Spanish sides Almeira and Merida and Portuguese outfit Estrela Amadora before they fly home.
