Ex-Celtic and Motherwell ace with international pedigree makes shock League Two switch

New Zealand cap Michael McGlinchey has made a surprise move to Queen's Park in League Two after his return to Scotland.

The former Motherwell and Celtic ace has spent time with Central Coast Mariners in Australia, Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand and Vegalta Sendai however has been tempted to pen a deal at Hampden.

He now joins Ray McKinnon's revolution at The Spiders as they aim after their switch to full-time football.

Speaking to the Queen's Park media team, the 33-year-old former Steelman said: “It feels great to have joined the club and I’m very happy to be here.

"The boys have made me feel really welcome.  It’s evident that we have some quality players here and have high ambitions.

"From my perspective I want to do my best for the club when given the opportunity.”
