Thomas Robert is training with Salford City after a potential move to Burnley failed to materialise.
The 20-year-old spent an extended spell on trial at the Premier League side but he wasn't offered a contract to join up with their under-23 side.
Robert, who hasn't featured for Airdrie this season, is now training with the League Two side, famously owned by members of Manchester United's famous class of '92.
According to reports, Salford have retained an interest in Robert since he joined the Diamond last summer and manager Gary Bowyer, previously of Blackburn Rovers, will take a closer look at the Frenchman.
Robert was really impressive in spells as he acclimatised to Scottish football last season and Airdrie boss Ian Murray would welcome him back into his squad - if he isn't signed by an English club.
