We hardly knew ye, E.J. Gaines…
The free agent cornerback has officially left Cleveland. Gaines returned to the Buffalo Bills, his 2017 squad, after spending his 2018 with the Browns. Numerous reports indicate the erstwhile starting CB is headed back to Buffalo on a one-year deal for over $3 million.
Gaines played just six games for the Browns thanks to two separate concussions that severely limited his availability. He did start two games and picked off a pass in the heartbreaking loss to the Oakland Raiders. The 27-year old has missed at least 5 games in each of the last three seasons, spanning three separate teams.
He is not to be confused with Phillip Gaines, who re-signed with the Browns last week.
