Ex-Broncos WR River Cracraft signs reserve/future contract with Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles signed eight players to reserve/future contracts on Monday. Denver Broncos fans will recognize one of the players that signed with Philly: wide receiver/kick returner River Cracraft.

Cracraft (6-0, 195 pounds) played college football at Washington State and signed with Denver as a college free agent following the 2017 NFL draft. After spending most of his rookie season on the Broncos’ practice squad, Cracraft dressed for eight games in 2018, catching one pass for 44 yards.

He was used primarily as a returner in 2018, returning three kickoffs for 43 yards and 12 punts for 40 yards. Cracraft spent one game on Denver’s active roster in 2019 before the team signed dynamic returner Diontae Spencer.

Spencer, who earned Pro Bowl alternate honors as a returner this season, made Cracraft expendable for the Broncos. Cracraft was cut by Denver on Sept. 24 and he signed with the Eagles’ practice squad on Dec. 24.

Because he was not on an active roster at the end of the season, Cracraft was eligible to sign a reserve/future contract with Philly. Cracraft will officially join the Eagles’ roster when the new league year begins in March.
