Ex-Broncos WR Jordan Taylor signs with Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have signed former Denver Broncos wide receiver Jordan “Sunshine” Taylor, according to multiple media reports (via Vikings Wire). Terms of the deal are unknown.

Taylor (6-5, 210 pounds) joined the Broncos as a college free agent out of Rice following the 2015 NFL draft. He spent his rookie season on the team’s practice squad and ran routes for Peyton Manning while the quarterback was recovering from an injury that season.

Taylor endeared himself to Manning and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his acrobatic catches at training camps. His numbers never quite lived up to the hype, though.

During his two years on the active roster, Taylor caught 29 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns. He missed all of the 2018 season while recovering from offseason hip surgeries.

Tayor will join a talented wide receiver room in Minnesota that already includes Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs and Laquon Treadwell. Taylor probably isn’t a lock to make the team’s 53-man roster but he’ll get a chance to compete for a job this summer.
