Ex-Bristol City and Bristol Rovers prospects transfer listed after big-money Peterborough moves

Former Bristol City and Bristol Rovers prospects Mo Eisa and Ryan Broom are among players transfer listed by League One promotion-winners Peterbrough United.

The pair made big-money moves from the West Country to London Road, but neither have panned out as desired.

Posh forked out £1.2million to sign Eisa from City two years ago, and after an electric start to his time in Cambridgeshire which was laden with goals, his second season has been much less productive.

Broom came through Rovers' academy before being released by Darrell Clarke in 2018 after making 12 appearances, and at the time the former Gas boss admitted the decision may "come back to bite me".

The midfielder then enjoyed an impressive two-year spell at Cheltenham Town which earned a £350,000 move to Peterborough last summer.

But the signing of another former City man, Sammie Szmodics, in the same window blocked Broom's path and after a January loan move to Burton Albion Posh have put him up for sale.

Broom scored once for Posh in 18 games this term before netting twice in 10 games for Burton.

Eisa – who cost City £1.5million in 2018 before making only five appearances for the Robins – has scored 21 goals in 71 appearances for Peterborough, but Darren Ferguson is moving on without him as he makes plans for the Championship.

The striker has suffered from the arrival of former Rovers talisman Jonson Clarke-Harris in 2020, with the striker scoring 31 league goals and often keeping Eisa on the substitutes bench.
