Ex-Bolton midfielder makes admission on Wanderers spell after joining League Two club this summer

Fomer Bolton midfielder Brandon Comley admits his time at Wanderers did not go how he wanted it to but is raring to get going at new club Walsall now.

Comley joined Wanderers in the summer of 2020 on a two-year deal. He joined the club from Colchester United ahead of the League Two campaign in the 2020/21 season.

Comley played 14 times in all competitions for Wanderers that campaign, but fell down the pecking order and did not feature in the second half of the campaign. The midfielder played just once last season for Wanderers.

His contract was cancelled by mutual consent last November. He evenutally joined Dagenham & Redbridge for the second half of last campaign.

The 26-year-old has joined Walsall and signed a two-year deal with the League Two club. Comley has admitted that his time at Bolton did not go how he wanted it to, but is now looking forward to the new campaign with the Saddlers.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Comley said: "I didn't go exactly how I wanted at Bolton. I don't think that's unknown to anyone. I had to take that step back down into a league I hadn't been before (with Dagenham), with the mindset I was going to get myself back into the league.

"Thankfully, I put the work in and got back in, so I'm raring to go now.

"I've got a hunger, and the team has a hunger. When the gaffer spoke to me, I felt the passion and desire of him wanting to do well in this league.

"That's something I was so excited to be involved in. I can't wait for the season to start now."
