The Bears are officially in need of a starting strong safety.
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who the team signed to a one-year prove-it contract last season, agreed to sign another one with the Cowboys late Thursday night. His agency, Sports Trust Advisors, announced the move but did not release terms. NFL Network reported it’s a one-year deal worth $4 million, with $2.5 million guaranteed.
He’ll reunite with new Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, his former boss in Green Bay.
The Bears figured to be limited in what they could pay a strong safety after rewarding free safety Eddie Jackson with a record-breaking extension shortly after the season ended. The Bears gave Clinton-Dix a one-year, $3 million deal last offseason.

He had two interceptions last season, both against the Redskins, with whom he’d finished 2018. He returned one for a touchdown.
Clinton-Dix, who was drafted by the Packers and traded to the Redskins at the 2018 deadline, replaced Adrian Amos last offseason. Amos signed a lucrative deal to leave the Bears and join join the rival Packers.
