Mum strangled in front of her children by abusive ex boyfriend

An abusive ex-boyfriend strangled, slapped and punched a mum in front of her two young children.

David Brooks, 24, tried to kick the mum in the stomach when she was pregnant with his baby.

After she moved home to try to escape his abuse, he found out her new address and beat her up a second time.

Brooks, of Alexandra Park, Aigburth, was jailed for 12 months and hit with a five-year restraining order in July last year.

But this summer he again tracked down the victim - who the ECHO has chosen not to name - and launched a third attack.

Mum with back pain left 'hysterical' as doctor confirms her fear

A mum who started feeling pain in her ribcage and back was diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of cancer.

Lyndsey Marie, from Kirkby, said she started to feel the pain back in March which also "radiated to her back" and was initially treated for a stomach ulcer.

In July, she started having further symptoms and said she was vomiting and losing weight.

Initial tests come back all clear but symptoms worsened and more tests were run.

Mum gives birth to miracle 1 in 200 million triplets

A mum gave birth to 1 in 200 million chance triplets at Liverpool Women's Hospital.

Gina Dewdney and her husband Craig fell pregnant last year and at their 13-week scan were left in shock when they found out they were expecting triplets.

But medics were left in disbelief when they discovered that the babies were sharing a single placenta - so rare there is only a 1 in 200 million chance of it.
