Ex-Aston Villa and Wolves coach strong favourite for Hamilton Accies manager job

Former Hamilton Accies coach Stuart Taylor is the bookies' favourite to takeover from Brian Rice.

The 46-year-old is odds-on to become Hamilton's new manager with Scottish bookmaker McBookie.

Taylor began his coaching career at New Douglas Park in 2007, while he was still a player before leaving the club in 2010.

The highly-regarded coach has worked in Qatar and Ireland but he's best known for his time in England, as assistant to Paul Lambert at Wolves, Aston Villa and Stoke City.

Taylor moved back to Scotland this summer to form part of Malky MacKay's coaching team at Ross County.

MacKay spoke glowingly about Taylor, adding: “Stuart is someone I have known for a number of years in football and brings vast experience of coaching at all levels of the game.

"He will be a fabulous addition to our coaching team at Ross County and I know our players will benefit from his advice and guidance. I’m excited to have Stuart on board with us for this next chapter."

Accies are speaking to various candidates about the vacancy with George Cairns and Guillaume Beuzelin set to take charge against Kilmarnock this Saturday on an interim basis.
