Xavier Amaechi is aiming to progress as a player and enjoy his football during his spell with Bolton Wanderers after explaining how his loan move from Hamburg came about.
The 20-year-old winger has joined Bolton on a loan deal for an initial six months from the German side.
He played youth football for Arsenal before moving to Hamburg in a 2.5 million euros deal in the summer of 2019.

Last season, he was loaned out to Karlsruher SC where he made seven appearances after joining them in January - and has now linked up with Wanderers, playing in all three of the club's pre-season friendlies so far ahead of the League One campaign starting on August 7 against MK Dons.
Amaechi said the move to Wanderers came about after discussions with Ian Evatt regarding the club's direction and desire to return to the Championship - and it was something he wants to be a part of.
The winger told the club's YouTube channel: "I'm looking forward to it a lot. I'm looking forward to getting started with the boys and just hopefully starting pre-season well and looking forward to the season.
"I just had contact with the gaffer a few weeks before pre-season and he just told me his plans. He wants to climb up and finish strongly in the league and get back to the Championship. That's how it started.
"He was just really positive and I think he's ambitious as well and that came across."
Amaechi is looking to slot into the Wanderers squad and feels Bolton's passing philosophy under Evatt is something that he admires.
He hopes to progress as a player during his time at the University of Bolton Stadium and help Wanderers get back to the second tier of English football.
He said: "I think I just want to get into a good rhythm and obviously help the team progress. It's all about the team and helping them and myself as well. Hopefully we can finish strong in the league and get back up to the Championship.
"I just want to be enjoying my football and when I'm enjoying it, I'm at my best so hopefully I can do that with this team. I'm looking forward to it.
"I like to dribble. I like to go one v one. I like to come in front the right hand side and shoot. I work for the team and I like to win as well.
"I know they like to keep the ball on the ground and play. I like the philosophy of how the coach wants to play."
