Ex-Arsenal stalwart and Wales star Aaron Ramsey just got his first Juventus start off to the perfect beginning

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is off the mark for new club Juventus.

The former Arsenal star, who arrived in Turin on a free transfer following his release by the Gunners over the summer, was handed his first start for his new club on Saturday evening against Hellas Verona at the Allianz Stadium.

Ramsey started alongside Juve legend Gianluigi Buffon, who made his second debut for the Italian giants, but it was the Wales international who would go on to steal the show during an eventful affair in Turin.

The visitors missed a penalty on 20 minutes before taking the lead through Miguel Veloso's thunderous volley just moments later.

But the lead would last just 10 minutes as a certain Cristiano Ronaldo wriggled his way past his man to find space on the edge of the box, before teeing up Ramsey, who drilled a brilliant low effort into the bottom corner.

Ramsey, who started his career at Cardiff City, netted 40 goals in the red of Arsenal in 262 games for the club, and will certainly be hoping to be a hit in Serie A, having been made to wait for his competitive first team bow due to fitness issues.

He was also left out of the most recent Wales squad for the wins over Azerbaijan and Belarus but, after previously playing three minutes of Juve's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid, now looks to be fit and firing once more.
