Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke has taken aim at Manchester United's deal for Harry Maguire - suggesting he isn't even the best defender in his side at the minute.
The Leicester City man is on the verge of joining Manchester United for around £80million, in a deal which will see the England international become the world's most expensive defender.
But Clarke has hit out at the fee United are set to pay to their Premier League counterparts, as well as branding Johnny Evans better than the 26-year-old.
"He is overpriced by around £25m at least, if not more than that," Clarke told talkSPORT .
"I see him as a good defender, but I certainly don’t see him as a great defender.

"I’d even argue that Jonny Evans, the man Manchester United disposed of and the man he was partnering last year at Leicester, is a better defender than Harry Maguire."
An announcement regarding this transfer is imminent following comments from United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
"Let’s get the last details over the line but yeah," the Norwegian told a press conference.
"He’s played a few games over the summer so we’ll have to assess him if and when."
