Ex-Airdrie and Motherwell coach is Gartcairn director of football

Eddie Wolecki Black has been appointed as Gartcairn's director of football, just days after leaving Motherwell ladies.

It was announced on Wednesday that Wolecki Black had left the Fir Park club to 'pursue other interests' and it was stated that he would concentrate on a degree at college.

Gartcairn landed their man on Friday, though, and chairman Martin Peacock says Wolecki Black wil focus on the performance arm of their academy; the men's and women's senior teams and the soon to be established under-19 women's team.

Peacock said: "The academy's ethos and strategy shall remain as is, however, this marks a significant moment internally.

"It has been a tremendous few months for us, with a new badge, new central payment system, changing room updates, new director of football, and in the next few months we shall be adding new stands, new kitchen area, new VIP spectator area and more.

"This is a major step forward for the women's professional game at Gartcairn."

Stuart Hall and Willie Kinniburgh will take Motherwell's ladies' team from tomorrow in the SWPL1.
