Ewan McVicar 'working with' Calvin Harris as BBC documentary airs

Ewan McVicar is 'working with' Calvin Harris with the duo teaming up to produce a new hit.

The Ayr DJ has teamed up with the worldwide megastar for a track on his new album.

The 'Tell Me Something Good' star revealed he'd joined forces with the Dumfries born DJ Calvin, who is currently the top earning DJ in the world - worth an estimated $300 million.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Scotland Ewan told how he has huge respect for fellow Scot who has topped the charts with hits like 'We Found Love' and 'Summer'.

Ewan said: "I'm writing an album right now and me and Calvin Harris have got a track on it right now."

He added: "We both play different music but the amount of respect I have for him, for everything he's done and the fact he's Scottish as well is just insane.

"And then when he saw me he was like: 'Its good to finally meet you.' He's lovely… what a lovely guy he is.

It comes as a BBC documentary based around Ewan's incredible homecoming gig aired for the first time this week.

Tune: Ewan McVicar - Back Tae Ayr is a short but inspiring mini-documentary which takes you behind the scenes of Pavilion Festival.

Clips are filmed before and then during the festival which took over the Low Green at the end of April.

Ewan revisits his old stomping grounds, telling how he first got a club job handing out flyers at Fury's, now Printhouse, in the town's Nile Court.

The DJ then recalls his first ever gig in the West of the Moon, now Arthur Street Kitchen, then onto the old Club De Mar, now Vinyl.

Kincaidston lad Ewan also visits Heather Park - the street he grew up in.

Wholesome footage shows Ewan standing in the estate and talking to residents.

Ewan then heads up to the Carrick Hills as stunning footage is captured, with Ewan telling producers how he would sit up there and make tunes till it was "pitch black."

Ewan also opens up on the grit and determination it took to get to where he is now as he stands gazing over the water at the beauty spot.

The documentary then hits the festival showing an emotional Ewan taking it all in.

The star can hardly believe his eyes as he finally walks out on the main stage as he puts his hands on his head in shock.

Mum Noreen Caldwell also features as she admits she wasn't able to wear eye make up knowing she would tear up.

"I'm just excited to be putting stuff back into it."
