Ewan McGregor's joy at intimacy coach for embarrassing sex scenes in new show

Ewan McGregor has admitted he was “relieved” to work with an intimacy coordinator while filming his new series – as he has always been embarrassed when doing sex scenes.

The Trainspotting actor plays notorious gay fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick in the Netflix series Halston, and worked on set with an intimacy coach for the first time in his career.

McGregor revealed he was fed up with directors telling him to “just do whatever”, which he labelled “embarrassing” and “not fair on either actor”.

The Scot, 50, said: “This [Halston] was the first thing I’ve ever done where we had an intimacy coordinator.

“It was such a relief, and it’s about time.”

Halston, following the life of the Studio 54 regular and internationally famous American fashion designer, is to premiere on Netflix on May 14.
