Ewan McGregor secretly welcomes baby boy with girlfriend Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Ewan McGregor has become a dad again after his girlfriend Mary Elizabeth Winstead gave birth to the couple's first child together.

The actor's daughter Clara, 25, confirmed her dad had welcomed his fifth child in a post on Instagram on Sunday night.

It is the actor's first child with Birds of Prey co-star Mary, who he began dating in 2017 after meeting on the set of Fargo.

Clara, whose mother is Eve Mavrakis, shared a sweet picture of herself cradling the new arrival alongside the caption: "Welcome to the world little brother. congratulations to my Dad & Mary - this is the greatest gift."

In a second snap, Clara can be seen lovingly gazing down at her baby brother as he stares back up at her.

And fellow celebs and fans alike were quick to take to the comment section to congratulate the family.

One fan wrote: "Obiwan with a new youngling added to the Jedi Academy."

While another also made reference to Ewan's Star Wars role, saying: "General Kenobi Jr!"

Ewan’s second daughter Esther also posted some adorable images on social media and revealed the baby's name.

She wrote: "Met my little brother looking like a pirate. I recommend! Welcome to the family little Laurie."

The surprising news comes as Ewan is currently busy filming the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+.

When discussing returning to the role after 15 years and the technological advances that have occurred since, Ewan previously said: "I like it. It’s like the beginning of Hollywood.

"It’s almost like when they had three-sided sets all in a row, and a bunch of guys with windup cameras, and you would just go from one stage to the other, one background to the other.

"Well, we’re doing sort of the same thing, except just the background changes instead of the stage. I’m excited about it because I feel like anything’s possible now."

New mum Kate will also bee seen on our screens again shortly as she stars in Netflix's Kate.

The movie is thought to be an action-thriller following an assassin whose world is disrupted when she discovers she's unknowingly been poisoned and must get revenge in her remaining few hours.
