Ewan McGregor has revealed he was once mistaken for a porn star while filming in Russia.
The Trainspotting star was on one of his epic motorcycle trips with friend Charley Boorman when he was approached by a fan.
The man said he recognised him as an actor and told how he had seen him in "adult movies".
McGregor, from Crieff, Perthshire, told the man he had got the wrong person but later thought he may have seen some of his early films where he regularly appeared in nude scenes.
He said: "There was a guy in Russia who saw me and he went 'actor, actor,' and I said 'yeah'.
"He didn't use the word 'porno' but he used a very polite way of saying 'porno'.
"He was like 'adult movies,' it was very charming the way he phrased it.
"I went 'no, no'. He might have seen some of my earlier work, I don't know."
Speaking to US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, he added: "Doing those big trips is one of the greatest things I've got to do in my life.
"You are out in the middle of nowhere, you just get such a sense of how nice people are around the world.
"We were in nomadic countries and there was a kinship there which was nice."
McGregor, 50, is currently appearing in new Netflix series Halston about the famous New York fashion designer.
He is also filming a new series for Disney where he reprises his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars movies.
