Ecstatic Ewan Henderson has revealed it was his breakthrough Celtic goal against Real Betis that convinced Hibs to come and sign him.
And while he wasn't initially fully sold on a move to Easter Road, he says the appointment of Shaun Maloney made up his mind.
Henderson joins Hibs on an initial six-month loan but he has also signed a pre-contract deal ahead of a permanent move in the summer.
He'll spend the next three-and-a-half seasons in Leith and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of older brother Liam.
It didn't quite work out for Henderson under Ange Postecoglou but he had his moment to remember when he came off the bench against Real Betis in the Europa League and fired his side ahead.
And speaking to Hibs TV, Henderson says it was that moment that attracted interest from Hibs.
And all it took was the appointment of his old Celtic B boss to convince him it was the right move to make.
“The interest actually came after I came on and scored against Real Betis," he said. "My agent phoned me that night to tell me that Hibs were interested.
“Obviously at that point a new manager hadn’t been announced, so I decided to wait and see.
“As soon as I saw it was Shaun Maloney, I was like one-million percent, let’s get this done!”
Henderson says Maloney was a huge influence on him at Celtic, where he coached the U20 side before taking off to work with Roberto Martinez in the Belgium set-up.
But he's back in Scotland now and Henderson can't wait to reunite with his old boss.
“Shaun is a big influence on why I’ve chosen Hibs," he said. "When I worked with him at Celtic, he was a top manager and he made me a better player.
“I’d say he has had a big influence on my career from an early age.
"The way he sees football, it made me look at football a completely different way than I did before, and he was a big reason that I made the step up to the Celtic first team.”
