Ewan Henderson leaves Celtic on loan as Parkhead kid joins Dunfermline for promotion push

Celtic youngster Ewan Henderson has joined Dunfermline on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old midfielder has arrived to help out Stevie Crawford's Pars as they hope to make a push for promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

Dunfermline have been one of the Championship's best sides outside runaway leaders Hearts and Henderson will also join fellow Parkhead loanee Kerr McInroy at East End Park, who joined in the summer window.

The Fife club have eight games left in their second-tier season but could be involved in a playoff push to return to the top flight once more.

However they are out of the Scottish Cup after being dumped on penalties by fellow Championship side Greenock Morton.

Henderson is the younger brother of former Celtic and Hibs kid Liam - who is now at Italian side Lecce - and he spent time on loan at Ross County last term.

The Scotland Under-21 cap made his senior debut under Brendan Rodgers nearly three years ago but this season has only managed three appearances off the bench.
