Evros river: 'Forced pushback' of refugees at the edge of EU

Evros river: 'Forced pushback' of refugees at the edge of EU

Refugees trying to enter Greece through its northern land border with Turkey have told Al Jazeera they have been threatened and forced to go back, in breach of international humanitarian law.

They claim it happened near the Evros river, which flows for more than 150km from Bulgaria to the Mediterranean Sea.

The Greek police have denied the allegations.

Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports from northern Greece.
