Donald Trump has stooped to a new low again to scrutinize his own party member for going against him. On Friday, he publicly sneered at Thomas Massie, a grieving congressman who just remarried after a painful loss.
Trump scoffed at Rep. Thomas Massie’s recent remarriage in a new Truth Social post on Friday. But it wasn’t his usual name-calling. He taunted the Kentucky Republican’s remarriage, saying his wife will soon “find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER.” The post doubled as a political jab. Massie has annoyed the MAGA boss for years by voting against party lines. But Trump’s audacity in mocking a widower’s second chance is unbelievable. It proved that cruelty is a bipartisan accessory in MAGA politics.
Massie had a legal wedding on Oct. 19 with Carolyn Grace Moffa, in a celebration attended by GOP figures. The marriage came a little over a year after his wife, Rhonda’s, death in June 2024. The two were married for over 30 years and had four children together. Massie’s remarriage was, by all non-political measures, a personal life milestone, not ammunition for a presidential tweet.
But Trump somehow made it into an insult. Laughably, the man flinging the insult has a well-documented history of affairs and sexual assault allegations. Stormy Daniels’ testimony and the subsequent hush-money controversies are part of the public record. Ironically, Trump is mocking Massie for remarrying, when he himself has married three times.
Social media lashed out at Trump in support of Thomas Massie
That context serves as the perfect baseline for judging moral theater when the speaker plays victim and executioner at once. Morgan Freeman, a vocal critic of Trump, had a blunt but fitting reply for the insensitive hag:
“An adjudicated rapists and 34x convicted felon who cheated on ALL THREE OF HIS WIVES — including banging 2 porn stars while Melania was pregnant and then muzzling them with hush money — is now MOCKING Thomas Massie for remarrying a year after he lost his wife???”
Other users on X were equally unimpressed with the low-life move Trump pulled. One wrote, “I’m beginning to think Dirty Donald has brain syphilis. To mock Thomas Massie for remarrying a year after he lost his wife is one more reason why this pedophile degenerate has no business being president. Trump is an adjudicated rapist and sex junkie who cheated on all 3 wives.” Another pointed out, “Trump is mad because Massie wants the Epstein files to be released. The user might be onto something.
Adam Kinzinger attacked Trump in return
Politically, the cheap shot has backfired. His outrageous post has gained Massie sympathy from the masses, something Trump probably didn’t aim for. On the other hand, even MAGA supporters are disgusted by his comment. Adam Kinzinger, the former Illinois Republican Rep, blasted Trump in support of Massie. Calling Trump “the thrice-married Epstein-listed rotten man,” he wrote:
“This is beyond the pale. And pure evil. Massie and I weren’t very close, but he’s a good man, and I wish [him] the best. Trump is evil to the core.”
The stunning lack of decency in targeting someone who remarried after a recent bereavement is shocking. Even if coming from a person like Trump. Politics should never lead to personal vendettas, but the man-child proved he doesn’t know how to draw that line.
