Evil thieves steal funeral car from Falkirk undertaker leaving bosses 'disgusted'

Staff at a Falkirk funeral parlour have been left "disgusted" after sick thieves stole one of their cars this morning.

The vehicle, owned by Thomas Cuthell and Sons, which can sometimes be used to transport bodies was taken from Main Street in Sheildhill just before 7:30am.

Bosses have branded those responsible as "evil".

The Ford Mondeo Estate was last seen speeding past a primary school in the area, shortly after being nicked.

In a Facebook post, the company said: "In the midst of the most difficult and emotionally draining time period our colleagues and community has faced, we cannot believe that such evil continues."

Speaking to the Daily Record undertaker Paul Cuthell said: "This is a disgusting act, it's a hard enough time at the minute, never mind having to deal with this."

"The car had vital PPE in it."

"The vehicle is used by our staff members incase they are called out during the early hours of the morning."

"From the outside, the person or people might not have known what the car was used for, but it's quite clear from the inside."

"Our company name is also on the registration plate."

An investigation has started and cops are asking people to look out for the registration number F9 TCS.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35am on Thursday, 4 February, 2021, we received a report of the theft of a car on Main Street in Shieldhill, Falkirk."

"Enquiries are at an early stage and the car was last seen in the Slamannan area. Anyone with any information that could assist our investigation should call police via 101, quoting incident number 0535 of 4 February."
