Evil stepdad admits killing pregnant girlfriend's daughter, 4, and hiding her in suitcase

A stepfather has admitted killing his heavily pregnant girlfriend's four-year-old daughter who just wanted to play as his wife gave birth in hospital.

Cruel Crisan Florin Beniamin, 23, described in chilling detail how he burnt the little girl's body after stashing it in a suitcase.

Shocking footage shows Beniamin wheeling the suitcase allegedly containing the girl's body down the street, followed by the girl's little brother as he walks quickly to keep up following the horrific murder in Arad, Romania, on October 26.

In a detailed confession to the police reported in local media, he admitted killing the girl, saying he was upset about having to take care of his 28-year-old partner's two children on his own while she went to give birth in hospital.

He told the police he was struggling to deal with the responsibility of dressing them and cleaning the house while knowing it was going to get even worse when she turned up with yet another baby and worrying about how he was going to cope.

The victim's stepfather, Crisan Florin Beniamin, 23, posted a Facebook post about the victim's mother (@crisan.florin007/Newsflash)

He said the girl, named Oancea Antonia, was always agitated and full of energy and, in a moment of rage, he reportedly admitted to hitting her multiple times and said that he knocked her head against a wall in the apartment lobby.

Her brother Oscar, 3, is believed to have witnessed the incident.

The suspect told the police that when he realised she was no longer breathing, he tried to resuscitate her.

He said: "I panicked, I slapped her to try to wake her up... I put pressure on her chest and blew into her mouth... When I realised what had happened, I started to scream, shouting 'I want to kill myself'."

When he realised he did not know how he was going to explain to his lover what he had done, he decided to get rid of the body and then went to meet her in hospital, having lied on the phone about why her daughter could not come, claiming that she was with her grandfather.

In reality, the suspect later admitted that he had put the child in a suitcase and took a taxi to the outskirts of town with the victim's young brother seen in the video footage trailing along behind.

He then allegedly set the victim on fire while her brother watched cartoons on a phone a few metres away.

He said: "I paid RON 8 (£1) [for the taxi]... and waited it for it to go out of sight. I saw there was no one around... I took Oscar by the hand... looking for a safe place to set the body on fire, thinking it would burn completely and leave nothing to be identified that would give me away...

"I left Oscar sitting on a rock watching YouTube cartoons on a phone, knowing he would be distracted, and I moved five to 10 metres away. I opened the suitcase and took out the sheet. It was clear that she had really died, so I put the body wrapped in the sheet near some concrete slabs and bushes and poured two bottles of acetone on it."

He said he then caught a taxi back home and subsequently lied when his partner called and asked to speak to her daughter, saying that the youngster did not want to speak to her.

When the woman arrived back home with the newborn baby and discovered her daughter was missing, he was found out and the police were called.

This week, after admitting his guilt, the suspect will take the police to the scene of the murder, where he burned the body.

He said that he had made a full confession and was cooperating in showing them what he had done in the hope of reducing his sentence, according to local reports.

The prosecutors said: "On October 26, the aforementioned person gave repeated blows to the minor victim Oancea Antonia, aged four years and three months, causing an acute closed craniocerebral trauma with subdural haematoma.

"He later transported the body with a trolley-type suitcase to an agricultural road located near the cemetery in the neighbourhood of Bujac in Arad, where it was set on fire so as not to be discovered or identified.

"Initially, the defendant Crisan Florin Beniamin did not admit to his involvement in the act."

The investigation continues.
