Evil killer Paula Farrell freed from jail three times since getting life for murder

An evil killer was freed from jail three times since getting life for murder, we can reveal.

Paula Farrell stabbed partner Wayne McQuillan after a row on New Year’s Eve 2014.

Teenagers who lived nearby in Rathmullen Park, Drogheda, Co Louth, wanted to call an ambulance for him as he lay bleeding to death in his garden but Farrell, 48, wouldn’t let them.

She was subsequently given life for her 30-year-old lover’s murder.

Farrell has so far served just five years in custody.

But she has been let out three times, twice
for Christmas and once for one of her children’s confirmations.

A neighbour said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes, she is only jailed for life and then she is back on
the streets.

“Surely life should mean life.

“She is a very dangerous woman, no one wants to see her out.

“Nobody is happy about this. Wayne was a grand, quiet chap and she didn’t bat an eyelid killing him.”

Farrell initially lied and falsely claimed Wayne had tried to strangle her.

But during questioning she admitted the truth, that they had been bickering and it exploded into a row.

She stabbed him four times including once in the neck in a frenzied attack.

Farrell told her trial where she denied murder and admitted manslaughter: “I didn’t want him to get the better of me.”

The victim’s sister Audrey, 38, his only sibling, told the jury Farrell had previously assaulted her brother during their 10-month relationship.

She was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life.

Wayne’s father Jimmy said afterwards: “I hope life means life.”
