Evil cop killer Aaron Brady lodges 30 different grounds for appeal against murder conviction

Evil cop killer Aaron Brady has lodged 30 different grounds for appeal against his murder conviction.

The case is due to be heard in the coming months but defiant gardai are convinced the Director of Public Prosecutions will fight it all the way and win.

The 30-year-old from Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, was given a life sentence at the Central Criminal Court in August last year for killing Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.

He shot the brave 41-year-old at point-blank range during a robbery at the Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Co Louth, in January 2013.

The judge recommended he serve a minimum of 40 years jail.

However, much of the evidence against him was circumstantial.

Brady showed no emotion when he was found guilty but gardai say he cried like a baby in the court cell afterwards.

The father of one has been a model prisoner since he was sent to Portlaoise prison working out in the gym every day.

Prison sources say he is “very confident” that he is going to win his appeal and clear his name.

A source said; “He is going around telling everyone he will win the appeal and he will be out on the streets in no time.

“He wants to return with his wife and child to America where he lived before his arrest, and rebuild his life.”

Brady met his wife Danielle Healy in New York but she grew up in Tralee, Co Kerry .

She is back living in the Kingdom with their son.

Brady was working in the building game and living in Yonkers.

Homeland Security helped gardai track Brady down and also located key witnesses whose evidence was crucial to his conviction.

Brady had drunkenly confessed to at least two of them that he had killed Det Gda Donohoe.

It is understood Danielle stopped going to the trial after Brady admitted during cross-examination a tattoo with a number on his back was in fact the date he met his ex-girlfriend.

Senior Garda sources say it is highly unlikely any other suspects will be charged with the murder.
