Congratulations to Evgeny Lebedev are well in order, as his otherwise ailing local TV station London Live appears to have broken a record. According to listings in his own papers, the Independent and the i, last Monday’s schedule ran 20 consecutive repeats, believed by media greybeards to be a first for a channel not dedicated to reruns (let alone one with “Live” in its name): everything from the first of many showings of River Cottage Life at 1pm to the watercooler TV that is Best of Talking Points at 3am had an (R) after it, The Evening News (R) mysteriously included.
