Emma is only 18-years-old! The tennis star turned professional in 2018 at the age of 15. A rare young talent, to say the least.

Where is Emma Raducanu from?

Emma was born in Toronto, Canada, but her family moved to England when she was two years old. She now lives in Bromley, London.

What has Emma Raducanu's tennis career looked like?

Emma has had a decorated career in tennis so far. This sporting year has been successful for her, resulting in an elevated world ranking.

She made her Women's Tennis Association Tour debut at the 2021 Nottingham Open.

In June of this year, she also competed at Wimbledon, where she advanced to the fourth round. Here, she also made history being the youngest British woman to reach the last 16 in the Open Era.

Her Wimbledon success was abruptly cut short after experiencing breathing difficulties during the second set of her fourth-round match against Ajla Tomlijanović. After retiring from this match to focus on her health, Emma was eliminated from the Championships.

Despite this, her World Ranking shot up during the tournament, rising from Number 338 to a guaranteed spot in the top 185.

She has competed in four tennis tournaments since Wimbledon, but the recent headline maker has been the biggest.

The British player has reached the US Open final in New York. The final will be held on Saturday, September 12, and she will be competing against Canadian player Leylah Annie Fernandez.

Her rapid rise has made her the first British woman in a major singles final in 44 years.
